New TSA Precheck Enrollment Center Coming Soon to Midway Airport Chicago

 In Chicago, Travel

TSA-preCheckIf you’re a travel professional (meaning you are on –the-go all the time) then speeding up your passage through the security lines is probably on your to-do list. And as luck would have it for Chicago-based professionals, there is a new TSA Precheck enrollment center coming soon to Midway airport!

If you’re unclear on what this means TSA Pre✓® allows participating flyers to experience a more efficient airport screening process by not having to remove their shoes, light jackets and belts, and by leaving laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags.

An important step in the enrollment process requires travelers to visit a TSA application center in person. To make this step even easier, Midway will feature a TSA Pre✓® enrollment center right at the airport from Monday, November 16, 2015 through Friday, December 4, 2015. The Enrollment Center will be located at Midway in Baggage Claim at the Baggage Service Office near Lower Level Door No. 1, making it accessible to all visitors, including those who do not have airline tickets.

Enrollment Center Hours of Operation:

  • Mondays and Tuesdays: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesdays – Fridays: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

*The center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (Thurs., Nov. 26) and the day after (Fri., Nov. 27).

Don’t miss this great opportunity to enroll in TSA Pre✓® — your ticket to a smarter travel experience! Over 150 airports, including Chicago Midway and O’Hare International Airports, have dedicated TSA Pre✓® lanes and 12 airlines participate in the program including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America

The first step is to pre-enroll ahead of time online. Take a minute to visit the pre-enrollment page where you will enter preliminary information and schedule an appointment at Midway.

On the day of your appointment, you will need to bring your documentation proving identity and citizenship status. Please visit http://www.tsa.gov/tsa-precheck/required-documentation for a complete list of required documents. If you have a U.S. Passport, that is all you need for identification. You will finish the process onsite at the airport by providing your fingerprints for a background check.

The application fee is $85 and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check, or certified/cashier’s check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. After completing enrollment, successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via U.S. mail within 45 days that is valid for five years. The enrollee should enter the provided KTN in the ‘Known Traveler Number’ field when booking travel reservations. The KTN also can be added when booking reservations online via a participating airline website, via phone call to the airline reservation center, or with the travel management company making reservations. Additionally, the KTN can be entered in participating airline frequent flyer profiles, where it will be stored for future reservations.

So if you’re ready to start speeding through security lines and don’t mind a few extra steps up front to make that happen then TSA pre-check may be just the ticket you’re looking for!
