Smart Cars was the first Sedan service in the city of Chicago when it opened its doors for business in March 1994 We started as an alternative to the Taxicab and have since evolved into a High Quality/Competitively Priced Luxury Sedan Service. Smart Cars started with 3 Chevrolet Caprices. We now have over 50 luxury sedans (Lincoln Towncars), Limousines, vans, mini-buses and coaches. Our drivers in 1994 were only asked to have the proper license in order to work with the company. Today there is a formal application procedure. After a preliminary screening, all Chauffeurs are required to attend a rigorous in-house training process that includes classroom work and on the road training. After passing a 165-question examination, they must then pass drug and map reading tests. Finally they must demonstrate proficiency in the use of communication equipment, etiquette with passengers and safe driving techniques. In 1994 we dispatched and kept track of our reservations on paper. Today we utilize several state of the art Dispatch and Call Center software packages Including Odyssey, GT3, FlightView and Transponet. Until 2002 we handled only reservations in the greater Chicagoland area. Today we can supply ground transportation almost anywhere in the world!
