CANCELLATIONS

The amount of time in advance of scheduled service within which SMARTCars must receive any notice of service cancellation in order to avoid being charged varies among vehicle and service types.

Scheduled private luxury sedan transfer service from Airports must be cancelled at least one (1) hour in advance of the scheduled pick-up time. For passengers with flight changes, cancellations, delays or alternate flight re-seating, SMARTCars must be contacted prior to departure in order to avoid being charged as a No Show.

Scheduled private luxury sedan transfer service from non-Airport locations must be cancelled at least two (2) hours in advance of the scheduled pick-up time. For service from all non-Airport locations in excess of one (1) hour driving distance from the Chicago metropolitan area, the amount of advance notification required to avoid being charged equals twice the actual time required to travel to the originally scheduled pick-up location from the Chicago Loop area.

Scheduled private luxury sedan and SUV charter service requires advance cancellation notification time that is equal to the greater of two (2) hours or the originally scheduled length of the charter service.

Scheduled charter service involving specialty vehicles, events or multiple passengers requires advance cancellation notification time of no less than five (5) business days.

Clients and/or passengers that have not canceled their scheduled service in advance and in accordance with SMARTCars service cancellation policies may be charged in-full as though the scheduled service had been provided as originally anticipated. Prior to processing any such No Show charges, however, a thorough investigation is made to ensure that the circumstances meet all reasonable thresholds to qualify as a fully-chargeable, No Show event for which the client/passenger is considered responsible.

Although subject to change without notice, the minimum No Show/late cancellation charge for private sedan transfer service is $35 from O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and $50 from Chicago Midway Airport (MDW). The minimum No Show/late cancellation charge for SUV transfer service is $50 from both ORD and MDW.

The minimum No Show/late cancellation charge for transfer service from ORD or MDW involving specialty vehicles, events or multiple passengers is the total amount of the originally scheduled service or services.
